Delicious Mini Apple Chocolate Pies

Apple Chocolate Pies

So hear it is a dip into apple paradise that is packaged in a Chocolate Crust, and a little bit of Marzipan(similar to these PEAR-PIES), to add a unique sweetness to it all. Why not make it an Apple Chocolate Pie?

September is a typical Apple Month, when the fresh apples fall from the trees, and when we probably are bombard with more Apple Recipe’s than any other time of the year. Yes Apples are defiantly a go to Fruit at this point in Society and good thing is we don’t have to wait until next year to rebake all these lovely Recipe. However I always love when things get picked right out of the garden.
Apple Chocolate Pies

Recognize this saying?

“An apple a day keeps the Doctor away”

Yes? Well did you know it is a nursery rhyme/poem to encourage children in the 16th century to eat healthier. This is how it continues:

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Apple in the morning– Doctor’s warning
Roast apple at night – starves the doctor outright
Eat an apple going to bed – knock the doctor on the head
Three each day, seven days a week – ruddy apple, ruddy cheek

So we established that Apples are healthy ,but are they also healthy with a little sugar? I say everything in moderation. I once mentioned I love Pies … this mini Pie is quickly in the oven, and easy to make when it has to go fast. A great dessert after lunch. What I like the best about these small mini’s is that you can make the exact amount that you need and there are no left overs. Yes sometimes Leftovers are great but there are points when you are just sick of them. And its always nice to have an excuse to make something fresh.

The Apple Chocolate Pie

The Recipies are only written in German (for now), if you would like some help translating them in an English version please feel free to contact  me I would be more than happy to help.

für 6 Stück
Zutaten:

Für den Teig:
250 g Mehl
5ml Dunkler Kakao
1 Prise Salz
210 g kalte Butter
3-4 EL Kaltes Wasser
etwas Paniermehl

Für die Füllung:
1 Apfel
20g Brauner Zucker
20g Mandel – gemahlen

Die Marzipan-Masse:
50g Marzpian,
